Committee Mission

The mission of the IH Clinical Issues and Guidelines Committee is to create evidence-based position statements focusing on clinical issues relevant to the integrated interdisciplinary team.

An Interview With The Chair

What about this committee’s mission is the most important to you? 

“To me, the most important mission of IHCIC is patient safety and care by providing support to committee members in developing best practices, clinical guidelines, position statements, and recommendations, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to knowledge exchange and innovation.”

How has being part of this committee benefitted you professionally or even personally?

“IHCIC has helped me both personally and professionally in many ways. The committee has facilitated and supported my reputation as a forward thinker and expert in the field of metabolic and bariatric nutrition by giving me the experience in research and writing publications. Personally, this committee has allowed me to meet and resolve challenges and network with the most amazing and thought-provoking professionals in this field.”

What of this committee’s accomplishments are you most proud of? 

“There are so many accomplishments I am proud of. I am especially proud of the publication “ASMBS review on fasting for religious purposes“, a truly collaborative project. I am also inspired by each committee member and their commitment in each respective working group. Leading this team has been a privilege.
