The Center for Digestive Health (CDH) is a priority service line at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and is seeking to fill a full-time Psychologist.

VMFH is seeking a dedicated behavioral health professional to join the comprehensive weight loss team in Federal Way and to work collaboratively with team members across all Center for Weight Management locations, including Silverdale.

This behavioral health role is important for a weight loss center because successful, sustainable weight loss often involves more than just diet and exercise—it also requires addressing the psychological and emotional factors that influence eating behaviors, body image, and motivation. The role is critical to help weight management patients address the following:
Emotional eating and behavior patterns
Body image and self-esteem
Behavior change support
Managing setbacks and relapses
Addressing eating disorders

This position will have a dotted line reporting to the Behavioral Health service line leadership team. The psychologist will perform patient care and attend meetings in person as well as virtually.

Job Requirements:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, focusing on health psychology and/ or obesity management. 

Board certification in Obesity Management or Bariatric Counseling is advantageous

Must be licensed to practice psychology in the state of Washington with good moral standing to effectively support patients undergoing weight loss surgery and address psychological factors  affecting their health.

Position Summary

About the Position
Torrance Bariatric Institute (TBI), a state-of-the-art bariatric and hernia surgery center located in the South Bay of Los Angeles, is seeking a full-time, fellowship-trained Bariatric and Advanced GI–Minimally Invasive Surgeon to join our expanding team.
This is a unique opportunity to join one of Southern California’s leading independent bariatric and MIS practices. The role is ideal for current-year fellows or surgeons within one to two years post-fellowship seeking a long-term, high-volume, and collegial environment.
TBI maintains an active Bariatric Surgery Fellowship Program, and the new surgeon will play an integral role in fellow education, operative training, and mentorship. Our MBSAQIP- and Blue Distinction Center (BDC)-accredited practice is equipped with advanced laparoscopic and robotic platforms and supported by two bariatric surgeons and two experienced physician assistants.

Compensation & Benefits
Starting Salary: $330,000 – $400,000 (commensurate with experience)

Completion of an accredited Bariatric or Advanced GI–MIS Fellowship (ASMBS-recognized preferred)
