FASMBS INTEGRATED HEALTH DESIGNATION PROGRAM

We are happy to announce that the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) will soon accept applications for the designations of Fellow for ASMBS Integreated Health (IH) members- FASMBS-IH .

The IH Fellows Designation Program is an elective designation to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession of metabolic and bariatric surgery and the ASMBS. Additionally, this designation is to encourage continued ASMBS contributions and engagement by our IH members. Only those recognized by this process will be entitled to use the FASMBS-IH designation. The IH Fellows Designation Program allows this designation to be granted by the FASMBS-IH Review Taskforce, a panel of distinguished ASMBS IH colleagues who evaluate each application individually.

Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery- Integrated Health The designation of “Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery-IH” may be bestowed upon an Integrated Health Regular Associate Member in good standing for a minimum of five (5) years who have made a substantial contribution through service and leadership in the Society. The types of service to be reported and the specific mechanisms for implementing and administrating the “Fellow-IH” designation shall be as specified in rules and guidelines adopted by the Executive Council and Integrated Health Executive Council.

Designation as a “Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery-IH” shall be for a period of three (3) years. The designation may be renewed for an additional three-year term contingent on the Member’s good standing within the Society, continued contributions as outlined within the renewal application, attendance at an ASMBS Conference at least once during the previous 3 years, achievement of 15 Category 1 CME or CEU credits in the field of metabolic and bariatric surgery during the previous 3 years, and participation in at least one (1) Society service or leadership contribution per three-year cycle. The designation may be withdrawn prior to the end of the three-year term in the event the Member is found to have falsified data, a professional license is not maintained, or the applicant is no longer a member in good standing within the organization.

Senior Integrated Health Fellows Members who are/were designated fellows at the time of their retirement may apply to for designation as a Senior Fellow. Retired Senior IH Member Fellows are exempt from renewal fees once Retired Senior status is achieved.
