Tunneling through Barriers: Addressing Obstacles with Bariatric Patient Follow-up

This 60-minute webinar will focus on barriers to patient engagement for individuals who have undergone metabolic and bariatric surgery, including economic difficulties, knowledge deficits, weight recurrence stigma, lack of support from primary care providers and family members, and difficulty accessing treatment sites. A moderated multi-disciplinary panel comprised of an advanced practice provider, a dietician, and two psychologists will discuss how these barriers impact patient engagement, including follow-up care, and review strategies to mitigate the effects of these factors and increase patient engagement.
