Shani Belgrave-Heath, MD FACS FASMBS


Shani Belgrave-Heath, MD, FACS, FASMBS, earned her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She completed her residency in General Surgery at the University of Maryland and her fellowship in Minimally Invasive Foregut and Bariatric Surgery at the University of Washington. Dr. Belgrave also graduated with honors from Brown University for her undergraduate studies. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Belgrave specializes in the management and treatment of obesity. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Atlanta Medical Association. In 2025, she was honored with the Young Physician of the Year Award by the Atlanta Medical Association. Dr. Belgrave has also been recognized by Atlanta Magazine as an Atlanta Top Doctor in both 2025 and 2026. She is the founder of Oneka Bariatrics and Wellness.
