Derek K. Rogalsky, MD attended Seattle University on a soccer scholarship where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and graduated with honors. During his years at SU, he also worked as a researcher in a biochemistry lab and served as president for the Bannon Scholars, a community of science and engineering students. Following college graduation, he and his wife Rebekah volunteered to teach and mentor for 1 year at the Louverture Cleary School in Criox-des-Bouquet, Haiti. He went on to receive his Medical Degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. During his time at Georgetown, he completed the Health Justice Scholar Track. He also worked at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Human Development, researching household air pollution. He then completed the General Surgery Residency Program at Oregon Health Sciences University in June, 2020.
Dr. Rogalsky specializes in treating a wide variety of surgical diseases including conditions of the breast, colon, gallbladder, and hernia repair. He has a special interest in performing minimally invasive, robotic, and bariatric surgeries. He is certified by Intuitive on the Da Vinci robotic surgical system and also trained in humanitarian surgery through the Colorado University Surgical Skills Workshop.
Dr. Rogalsky and his wife Rebekah have two sons – Jensen and Theo. In his spare time, Dr. Rogalsky enjoys spending hours in nature – venturing around the Pacific Northwest, hiking, camping, kayaking, running and biking. He also enjoys cooking and learning the many necessary skills of home DIY.
