The Bariatric Program Manager is responsible for oversight and coordination of the surgical weight loss program Clinic(s) in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. The Department of Surgery at New York University Grossman School of Medicine is seeking an exceptional investigator in the field of obesity and metabolic surgery. The position is based at Health and Hospitals-Bellevue Hospital, located at 462 First Avenue, adjacent to the NYU Medical Center Complex (550 First Avenue). Qualifications are MD/DO and/or PhD, strong track record of publication, and experience with applying for extramural funding or a record of obtaining funding. The ideal candidate will be a population-health scientist who plans to secure funding within the next 3 years to build a research program focusing on research gaps in metabolic surgery/bariatric surgery, particularly leveraging clinical data from the underrepresented minority demographic of our patient population. This person will have the ability to collaborate with existing members in other departments across the institution, strengthening the collaborations among existing obesity researchers across NYULMC.

- Our comprehensive bariatric program includes two other experienced bariatric surgeons, a psychologist, a Licensed Independent Social Worker, dieticians, physician assistants, a program manager, a practice manager, bariatric nurses, and medical assistants.
- Practice primarily includes laparoscopic primary and revisional bariatric surgery. We also do high volume endoscopy to support our bariatric program. We are currently developing an obesity medicine program to support our bariatric patients and applicants with an ABOM certification or interest in obtaining that designation would be of particular interest.
- Practice is part of MBSAQIP accredited bariatric program based at Overlake Hospital
