The Department of Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center, located in the western suburbs of Chicago, is recruiting for the position of Chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery, Bariatrics and Community General Surgery. The MIS program is incorporated with Loyola’s Digestive Health Program, which is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program.

The ideal candidate is a leader in minimally invasive surgery with experience in advanced minimally invasive surgery and endoscopic procedures. Successful candidates will possess an M.D. or D.O., board certification in general surgery by the ABS, advanced training/fellowship in MIS and credentials that will support a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor. An Illinois state license is required by the time of hire. It is strongly preferred that candidates possess prior leadership and program development experience with demonstrated fiscal and administrative responsibility, as well as a strong commitment to resident and medical student education. Lastly, candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills and strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

Seeking candidates who have completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive General Surgery or similar category. Concomitant clinical employment through University Health Systems in Knoxville will be full time. Responsible for the didactic education and surgical training of residents, medical students, and fellows.
Qualifications
Completion of Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship or related category. Tennessee Medical License. Board Certified in General Surgery.
Surgical practice will have a primary focus on the treatment of general surgery diseases through minimally invasive techniques. Candidates must have experience with open, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques. Endoscopic experience is preferred. Clinical expertise in other areas such as endocrine, bariatrics, or breast surgery can be accommodated.
Candidates should have established research related to the disease processes found in general surgery.
Candidates will be directly involved with the AWR/hernia and Bariatric/MIS fellowships and will be responsible for both didactic and hands on training of the general surgery residents and medical students.

Position Highlights

The chief of the Division of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery will provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the division within the Department of Surgery. The chief will be responsible for all planning, policy, operations and oversight of academic, research and clinical programs of the division. Qualifications –

Virginia Mason Center for Weight Management – Seattle/North End

Virginia Mason is seeking a Weight Management/Obesity Medicine Physician to join our team. This provider will work primarily at one of our North End regional medical centers with one day per week on our main campus in Seattle. There is some allowance for remote work as well. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in obesity and metabolic health management, certification through the American Board of Obesity Medicine or completion of an obesity medicine fellowship, and the ability to collaborate and program build with our bariatric surgeons.

Responsibilities
Diagnosis and multimodal treatment of patients with obesity and related metabolic disorders. This includes behavioral counseling/lifestyle coaching, pharmacotherapy, as well as care coordination with dieticians, bariatric surgeons, physical therapists, mental health providers, etc. Help manage patients with post-bariatric surgery metabolic issues such as weight regain, hypoglycemia, vitamin deficiencies, etc.
Provide full-time outpatient clinical care.
Participate in Center for Weight Management program development activities (e.g. MBSAQIP meetings, care conferences, growth/strategy meetings, etc).
Practice location will be primarily in the North End and one day in Downtown Seattle.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of outpatient clinical experience or pending graduation from an obesity medicine fellowship. BE/BC in internal medicine, primary care, family medicine, or endocrinology.
Certification by American Board of Obesity Medicine (completed or pending)
Active Washington State medical license in good standing prior to start date.
Active DEA certification prior to start date.
Active BLS Certification.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience and/or interest in health services research is preferred but not required.
Proficiency with or ability to become proficient with the Cerner EMR.

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry in the WVU School of Medicine seek a Clinical Health Psychologist (Bariatrics) in Morgantown, WV.

The successful candidate will specialize in Bariatric Psychology and will have a background/training with bariatric populations and expertise in the behavioral treatment of adults with obesity and related metabolic or eating disorders. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the inter-relationships among behavioral, emotional, cognitive, social, and biological components related to bariatric surgery, obesity, and eating behavior. The position will include clinical, teaching/supervision, and research responsibilities.

Regarding clinical duties, the candidate will function as an integral member of the WVU Medicine Medical and Surgical Weight-Loss Center, a MBSAQIP-accredited high-volume bariatric surgery center that offers a comprehensive surgical program to help patients obtain a healthy weight and improve their quality of life. Clinical responsibilities include provision of pre-surgical psychosocial evaluation and intervention for patients pre-and postoperatively; collaboration and consultation with members of the Bariatric Surgery team; and supportive services to the bariatric team with programmatic components. The candidate also has the opportunity to become integrated with the multidisciplinary Medical Weight Management team to provide evaluation, consultation, and treatment to address weight loss goals and health promotion. Candidates with additional areas of interest and expertise within Health Psychology are encouraged to apply.

In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. The candidate will be involved in our well-known, training-focused APA-accredited clinical psychology internship in our Behavioral Medicine Track, and our Clinical Health Psychology-Bariatric Fellowship.

Applicants must have a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited graduate program with an APA/CPA-approved internship and be immediately eligible for licensure in West Virginia.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Staff Psychologist will work collaboratively with Bariatric/Weight Loss Program providing psychological consultation, support, counseling, and intervention to bariatric patients.
2. Completes all pertaining documentation, Databases, Contact/Progress Notes, Referral/Disposition Summaries, and other necessary paperwork.
3. Performs psychological evaluation for the preoperative bariatric surgery patient and provides a written evaluation and interpretation of data as to the patient’s readiness and ability to make an informed decision regarding surgery.
4. Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, attends staff and team meetings to discuss patients.
5. Provides individual/family and group psychotherapy and psychological support to postoperative bariatric surgery patients surrounding psychosocial issues/stressors.
6. Addresses psychopathology, body image, self-esteem, social support quality of life. Post-surgical follow-up required at different intervals.
7. Participates in in service activities such as patient care, conferences, Psychology Staff Meetings/In Services, and other departmental training activities.
8. Performs related duties such as quality assurance activities, supervision of psychology intern, representation at administrative meetings, and others as assigned by the Director of Psychological Services
9. Participates in continuing education and/or other appropriate activities to maintain current licensure
10. Performs other duties as required by the Director of the Department of Psychiatry, Chairman of the Department of Surgery or designee.

Minimum Qualifications
