The Dietitian will be primarily responsible for the provision of high quality medical nutrition therapy for bariatric and medical weight loss candidates in the out-patient program. This role utilizes the care process consistent with their license or certification including initiation of interventions within individual scope of practice. The Dietitian conducts pre-surgical evaluations of bariatric surgical candidates working as part of a broader treatment team consisting of surgeons, mental health professionals, and wellness. The Dietitian stays current with information regarding the management of the obesity, the nutrition needs of the bariatric population, and general nutrition guidance for individuals seeking healthy lifestyle changes. Licensed and registered care providers responsible for utilizing the care process relative to their scope of practice and knowledge base, may document the assessment, plan, intervention and evaluation. By participating in educational activities, the Dietitian assumes responsibility for continued professional and personal growth.
