Committee Mission

The mission of the Community and Independent Practice Committee is to represent interests of independent practitioners and provide solutions to challenges in bariatric surgery.

What about this committee’s mission is the most important to you? 

“To me, the most important part of our committee’s mission is to provide useful information to our members that allow their practice to flourish in private practice. Our goal is for members to have a successful business in the field of Bariatric and Metabolic surgery.

How has being part of this committee benefitted you professionally or even personally?

“As the chair of the committee, I have benefited professionally from learning from other experts around the country on how to grow my practice and how to thrive when circumstances beyond our control impact the bottom line with patient-first initiatives.”

What of this committee’s accomplishments are you most proud of? 

“I am most proud of the continued unity this group provides in looking for opportunities for the private, or independent, physician to succeed, through educational and social events that allow for the exchange of knowledge.

Final Thoughts on the Community and Independent Practice Committee?

“This committee’s focus on surgeons and Integrated health practitioners that have needs more specific to non-university practices, such as contract negotiations, financial solvency, and recruiting patients to their practice is creating more and more successful outcomes.”
