With more than 20 years of surgical experience, I decided to become a doctor because what a better way to serve others than through Medicine. I was born in Guatemala, the Eternal Spring Country, where I studied medicine and ranked number one in the graduating class. My training in General Surgery was at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio; one of the top 3 hospitals in the world. Due to my performance, I was promoted from first year preliminary resident to third year categorical resident. Then, I completed my fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Weight Loss Surgery at Tampa General Hospital. Since then, I have been practicing surgery striving for Excellence in Care. I am currently a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery in Focused Practice Designation in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and one of the few surgeons in the United States verified in Bariatric Endoscopy after completing the Skill Acquisition Focused Evaluation by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
