I am the founding General Secretary for SAMMSS, the South African Metabolic Medicine and Surgery Society. Currently affiliated to Sefako Makgatho Healht Sciences Univeristy where I am involved in the upper GIT and bariatric surgery training programme. A current proctor for SADI in SA through SAMMSS. On the group that published the Obesity treatment guidelines for SA in 2025. Partnered with Wits Donald Gordon to run a fellowship training programme for bariatric surgery in SA.
