Thien Nguyen, MD

Thien Nguyen is a metabolic and bariatric surgeon and the Medical Director of the bariatric surgery program at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, WA. Dr. Nguyen attended medical school at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles CA. He went on to complete his internship and general surgery residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. He completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Harvard School of Medicine in Boston, MA. Dr. Nguyen is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Nguyen’s interest include bariatric surgery, minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery. He is committed to providing safe and high quality care to his patients. He has been recognized as one of “Seattle’s Top Doctors” for bariatric and general surgery four times and is an ASMBS (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery) verified surgeon. Dr. Nguyen is currently serving as the Vice President for the ASMBS Washington State Chapter and is an Advisory Board Member for Washington’s Surgical Care and Outcomes Assessment Program (SCOAP).
