Teresa Fraker, FACHE, RN, CPHQ is the Executive Director (ED) for the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA). Previously, she was the Program Administrator for the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) at the American College of Surgeons (ACS) in Chicago, IL. Teresa received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA, and her Master of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. Teresa previously has held certifications in both oncology as well as bariatric nursing and she has worked in multiple clinical areas over the last nearly 40 years of her career in the areas of women's health, breast cancer, perinatal services and bariatric surgery. Prior to her role at ACS, she worked as a hospital administrator with oversight of multiple hospital-based outpatient departments. Teresa has been extensively involved over the years with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) as well as the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). In addition, she is a Senior Baldridge Examiner, having served three states in this capacity.
