Dr. Kajese is a professor in the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School, University of Texas – Houston. She is the former Program Director for the Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at Memorial Hermann, Memorial City. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Her medical school and residency training were then completed at the University of Kansas. She subsequently moved to Texas to obtain her fellowship training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. She is currently Co-Chair on the ASMBS Access to Care Committee. She is active in the Texas Association for Bariatric Surgery, and currently serves as their Vice President. She is also the Chief of Surgery at Memorial Hermann Memorial City hospital in Houston. While Dr. Kajese has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, written book chapters, and presented her work at national meetings, she is most passionate about the clinical treatment of obesity. Her goal is to encourage and coach her patients through their weight loss journey in a supportive and understanding fashion. She is committed to helping each of her patients achieve lifelong health.
