Sherman Yu, MD FASMBS

Dr. Sherman Yu is a board-certified, Houston based bariatric surgeon and weight loss specialist, also specializing in treatment for GERD, acid reflux, and chronic heartburn. Dr. Yu is a co-founding surgeon at Texas Laparoscopic Consultants, a highly rated bariatric center and weight loss clinic in Houston. He offers a full spectrum of bariatric surgeries, including gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, and gastric banding. Additionally, he is experienced in non-surgical weight loss procedures such as gastric balloon and Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG). Dr. Yu is committed to helping patients live healthier and he has been recognized with several industry awards.

Dr. Yu graduated with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin, received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, completed his residency at The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and had a fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the Texas Association of Bariatric Surgeons.
