Sheetal Nijhawan, MD FACS

Dr. Sheetal Nijhawan, FACS, serves as the Medical Director for the Center for Weight Control at Sharon Regional Medical Center and is a board-certified general surgeon. She specializes in bariatric surgery (primary and revisional), robotic surgery, general and oncologic surgery of the intestine and solid organs. In addition, she performs all minimally invasive operations of the abdomen including operations for gastric reflux, paraesophageal hernia, inguinal and abdominal wall hernias, and endoscopy 

Dr. Nijhawan attended medical school at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in Bangalore, India and completed a general surgical residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, she completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the University of California in San Diego, California.

She joined the staff of Sharon Regional Medical Center in 2013 and is also part of Steward Medical Group.
