Sany Thomas, MBBCH

Dr Thomas board certified Bariatric and Minimally Invasice General Surgeon at Denver Health Hospital. She is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado and Assistant Director of Bariatric Surgery at Denver Health. Dr Thomas completed her medical school at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. After immigrating to America, she completed general surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and followed by a Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California. She is a member of numerous national societies including the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr Thomas brings her expertise to Denver Health and is passionate about improving the patient experience. She has implemented several new protocols, which ahs both reduced the legth of stay and improved patient outcomes.
