Dr. Sanjiv Gray is a board-certified trauma and acute care surgeon with a focused designated practice in metabolic and bariatric surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS), as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, Anesthesiology (Neurocritical Care), and Obesity Medicine. Dr. Gray has been serving at Lakeland Regional Health since 2018, where he practices trauma, acute care surgery, surgical critical care, and bariatric and metabolic surgery. He is also on faculty at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he is dedicated to training the next generation of physicians. His clinical and research interests include bariatric surgery outcomes, comprehensive obesity management, traumatic brain injury care, and clinical nutrition. Dr. Gray has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, contributed book chapters, and presented nationally and internationally on topics ranging from trauma resuscitation to obesity medicine. Dr. Gray is passionate about improving patient care through innovation, evidence-based medicine, and patient advocacy, with a mission to expand access to high-quality surgical and metabolic health services. When he is not in the operating room or teaching, Dr. Gray enjoys spending time with his favorite people, his wife and three daughters traveling together, attending concerts, and cheering them on in their own performances.
