Received General Surgical Training at Brown University, Providence, RI and University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. Bariatric and Robotic Fellowship at University of California, San Diego with world renowned masters in surgery such as Alan Wittgrove, MD, Santiago Horgan MD and Mark Talamini MD. Was then appointed as the Director of the Metabolic and Bariatric Center at Saint Michaels Medical Center, Newark, NJ. This program was started by Dr Majid as a brand new service line in the hospital. In 2 years from inception, it achieved the MBSAQIP comprehensive, fully accredited pogram. She then started the Weightloss and Metabolic Wellness Center at East Orange, NJ. This is a comprehensive program, offering the full range of services for the treatment of Obesity. All surgical and non surgical options such as endoscopic Balloons, medications are Laparoscopic,Robotic bariatric surgery ( sleeve gastrectomy, RYGB, DS) as well as revisional bariatric surgery and foregut procedures such as Nissen Fundoplications and Paraesophageal hernia repairs. In 2018, I founded the Weight Loss and Wellness Center, in NJ with a mission to manage and treat obesity using cutting edge, state of the art treatment options both surgically and non surgically. I take care of adolescents, and revisional surgery patients using laparacopic, robotic and endoscopic tools. Currently the Weight Loss and Wellness Center has 3 locations serving NJ and NY. We have a team of experts including NP, PA, RD and psychologists and ABOM specialis. We are grateful to have helped thousands of patients across all ages and backgounds, practicing highest levels of evidence based medicine.
I serve as the Treasurer- Secretary of the TREO Foundation ( former ASMBS Foundation), past president of the NJ State Chapter of ASMBS, past chair of the Post Operative WEight Recurrence Task Force, ASMBS.
