Robert Cunningham, MB BCh BAO MRCS MPH FACS DABOM

I graduated with honors from University College Dublin School of Medicine, Ireland in 2011. I worked as an intern and surgical senior house officer at St. Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin for two years prior to taking up a prelim general surgery residency position at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. I completed my general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2018 followed by a fellowship in bariatric and foregut surgery at Geisinger Medical Center in 2019. Since fellowship, I have worked in several locations in both Ireland and the US in bariatric and general surgery, including 2.5 years in a full-time private bariatric practice in the midwest. I am currently the Director of Bariatric Surgery at a new bariatric program in Council Bluffs, IA. I am passionate about providing durable, high-quality weight loss and metabolic solutions as well as minimally invasive general surgery with advanced laparoscopic and robotic technology.
