Dr. R. Wesley Vosburg is a board-certified general surgeon with a focused practice designation in metabolic and bariatric surgery. He is board certified in obesity medicine and fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and ASMBS who specializes in metabolic, bariatric, foregut, and minimally invasive robotic surgery. He serves as the Program Director for the General Surgery Residency at Grand Strand Medical Center, where he trains residents in advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques while leading initiatives to improve patient safety and surgical quality. Dr. Vosburg performs a full range of metabolic and bariatric procedures, including Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, revisional bariatric surgery, and paraesophageal hernia repair. His practice emphasizes evidence-based, patient-centered care, focusing on long-term weight management, comorbidity resolution, and quality of life improvement after surgery.
