Punam Patel, MD FACS DABOM FASMBS

I am a fellowship trained bariatric and minimally invasive surgeon with specialized training in robotic surgery for bariatrics and general surgery. I have been in practice since 2017 and look forward to staying ahead of the curve in improving and providing quality care to improve my patients lives. I received my medical degree and completed residency training at Rutgers - New Jersey Medical School. I completed fellowship training through UT Houston/BMI of Texas and have been practicing bariatric and foregut surgery since that time. In my quest to be a well rounded surgeon, I've been trained in and practice endoscopic bariatric revision procedures such as Overstitch, as well as reflux management through the Linx system. Most recently, I became certified in obesity medicine through ABOM to be able to better incoroporate the medications nad lifestyle changes that lead to success in bariatric patietns. I have also been inducted into the Fellowship of American College of Surgeons, and have completed the ASMBS fellowship certificate program. I look forward to being a part of the future of bariatric surgery!
