Neil Floch, MD FACS

Neil Floch MD, FACS is an Associate Professor of Surgery at The Yale School of Medicine and Surgeon in The Department of Surgery. He is the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Greenwich Hospital. He was Head of the section of General Surgery at Norwalk Hospital where he practiced since 1998. Dr. Floch specializes in Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery, Revisional Bariatric Surgery and Anti-reflux Surgery. At his former practice: Fairfield County Bariatrics and Surgical specialists he performed over 3000 bariatric procedures over 22 years. He also practices Robotic, Foregut, Trauma, Acute Care, and General Surgery. He is Fellowship trained in minimally invasive surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville. He has written over 20 journal articles, multiple book chapters on reflux, bariatric surgery and the microbiome. He is a co-author of Netter's Gastroenterology, published globally in over 4 languages. He was a clinical faculty member for the at Norwalk Hospital Physician Assistant Surgical Residency Program. He is the Past President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He has been the originator and 3 year meeting organizer for the Annual ASMBS CT Chapter presents: Obesity Summit. He is the former co-chair and Chairman of the national ASMBS Communications Committee. He is an Associate Editor for the SOARD Journal as well as Co-associate Editor for Communications for SOARD. He is a social media influencer in the fileds of obesity, bariatric surgery, diabetes, and sugar. He has held top 10 rankings in obesity and surgery among other topics. He has a over 131,000 Twitter followers. He is an avid micro-blogger and a co-founder of the @OBSM_Chat #OBSM Twitter Chat, website and blog.
