Laura A. Richardson, PhD, FACSM - Clinical Exercise Physiologist.
Elected President of the Clinical Exercise Physiology Association and University of Michigan Clinical Associate Professor of Applied Exercise Science and Movement Science School of Kinesiology. Dr. Richardson is a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist with over two decades in healthcare working with patients diagnosed with immunological, metabolic, pulmonary, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, and orthopedic disorders using exercise as a mode of therapeutic intervention. Her expertise is working with metabolic patients utilizing behavior modification strategies for lifelong weight management with bariatric surgery along with advocating for the advancement of the Clinical Exercise Physiology profession. Exploring subjectivity centered on obesity stigmatization and fat bias among fitness professionals. Raising awareness for weightism and breaking barriers for improving physical activity adherence with chronic health conditions.
