Kirsten Tychonievich, APP Lead APRN-CNP MS BA

I am an Adult Nurse Practitioner with The Ohio State University Comprehensive Weight Management, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery program. I serve as APP Lead for Surgical APPs. I care for patients seeking bariatric surgery, those who require follow up after bariatric surgery (including gastric band adjustment procedures) and I also manage medications for obesity treatment. I work with adult patients but feel strongly that we need to address the family, educational, and institutional structures that place both adults and children at risk for obesity. I started working in bariatric surgery / weight management in October 2011 and became a Fellow of the Obesity Medicine Association in November 2022. In the past, I was an APP Board member for the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary tract (SSAT). I proudly serve on the Support Group committee within ASMBS.
