Dr. Foreman is a retired bariatric and general surgeon, board-certified in Surgery and Obesity Medicine, who performed a variety of bariatric surgical procedures including the laparoscopic gastric bypass, vertical sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic gastric banding, laparoscopic duodenal switch for the super-morbidly obese, and revisional bariatric surgery. He also has an interest in other minimally invasive procedure such as laparoscopic antireflux surgery. Dr. Foreman was raised in the St. Louis area where he attended both Washington University and the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Following medical school he went on active duty as a US Army medical officer and flight surgeon, with stops at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Fort Rucker, Camp Stanley(Korea), and Ft. McPherson. During this time he also served in Haiti as a United Nations senior medical officer from 1995-1996. Dr. Foreman then completed his General Surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, after which he joined Alabama Surgical Associates in Huntsville, AL. He is currently on staff at Crestwood Medical Center, where he served as Chief of the Medical Staff as well as former Medical Director of the Crestwood Bariatric Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Senior Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and is a founding member and a Past President of the Alabama Chapter of the ASMBS.
