About the Provider

Dr. Kati Duncan is the Owner and Clinical Director of Assessment & Therapy Associates (ATA), a multi-state behavioral health practice specializing in the care of bariatric patients. She has focused on bariatric psychology since 2005, providing pre-surgical psychological evaluations as well as pre- and post-operative treatment to support long-term surgical success. Dr. Duncan currently serves on the Integrated Health Leadership Council of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and contributes to multiple ASMBS committees and task forces. She is a frequent speaker at both national and state ASMBS conferences. Dr. Duncan was honored in 2025 with the ASMBS Circle of Excellence Award and recognized as the Behavioral Health Provider of the Year in 2025. Since 2007, Dr. Duncan has served as adjunct faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she completed her internship and residency in neuropsychology. She remains deeply committed to advancing integrated, patient-centered bariatric care and considers it a privilege to support individuals through the emotional and behavioral aspects of their bariatric journey. Dr. Duncan is licensed in Virginia and holds PSYPACT mobility privileges, allowing her to provide services in participating PSYPACT states.
