My name is Katie McIntosh; I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, specializing in bariatrics, disordered eating, bariatric evaluations and pre-and post-operative therapy. I also treat depression, anxiety, mood disorders, life changes, traumatic experiences and symptoms, women’s issues and other significant life events. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have been practicing Social Work professionally for over 9 years. I am passionate about bariatrics; helping others become mindful of their eating habits and learning about the relationship we have with food. Having had the gastric sleeve in 2013, I am able to relate and provide a safe place for patients to feel comfortable during evaluations and pre/post-operative therapy. Patients often feel nervous or unsure about how life after surgery will truly change; I am dedicated to providing the best care as each patients journey is different after surgery.
