Kalyn True, RD LD

Kalyn True is a registered dietitian and certified personal trainer who has been working with bariatric patients in all stages of their journey since 2018. In addition to bariatrics she also sees clients for general weight loss and nutrition counseling. 

As a dietitian she values her patients’ needs and provides the utmost care to meet people where they are. Her daily objectives include, providing individualized nutrition recommendations based on evidence based guidelines, establishing open and honest lines of communication with her patients, engaging in shared decision making to help enhance overall health and wellbeing for pre- and post-op patients. She enjoys cultivating lasting relationships with all of her patients, celebrating their triumphs and providing the necessary support whenever the need arises. To further assist in meeting needs she has been facilitating a private online group and running virtual support groups on a monthly basis. Kalyn welcomes the opportunity to be a part of a patient’s health journey, her intention is to help people live healthier and happier lives. 

She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, a part of both the weight management dietetic practice group and the sports and human performance practice group. Kalyn is also a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and currently serves on the ASMBS Integrated Health Multidisciplinary Care Committee. Dedicated to her weight loss specialty, she was an invited speaker for the 2023 annual ASMBS conference. While her professional passion lies in bariatrics, she has also worked with Memorial Hermann in publishing general nutrition articles in consumer- focused blogs as well as volunteering her sports nutrition talents to work with Dragon Master Initiatives running team, Team Fired Up. 

Outside of work, Kalyn is always on the go as an avid outdoorswoman. You can find her on various adventures with her husband and dogs, participating in triathlons, or running events.
