Kalyana C. Nandipati, M.B.B.S. is specially trained in esophageal surgery and bariatric surgery. He also has expertise in minimally esophagectomies (MIE, for esophageal cancer) and advanced reflux and endoscopic surgeries. Dr. Nandipati has co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles and over 100 abstracts on a variety of subjects, and written several textbook chapters including in the field of reflux disease, esophageal cancer, weight loss surgery and more. Dr. Nandipati is the director of the esophageal center at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center Bergan Mercy. Esophageal center has been actively involved in providing expert opinion for difficult foregut issues like reflux disease, barrett’s, motility disorders like achalasia and esophageal cancer. Dr. Nandipati performs anti-reflux (fundoplication’s, LINX) procedures, reoperations for failed reflux surgery, para-esophageal hernia repair, Heller myotomy and esophagectomy (laparoscopic/thoracoscopic) for benign and cancer disease. He has expertise in performing robotic surgery and started robotic esophagectomy program at CUMC. He also performs weight loss surgeries like sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric banding (Lap Band®), Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and re-operative bariatric surgeries. He has expertise in endoscopic interventions for esophageal disease (BARx and POEM) and bariatric surgeries (TORe, ESG ORBERA balloon and Endoscopic sleeve)
