Dr. Josh Long grew up in Dallas, Texas. He was blessed to receive an excellent medical education at UT Southwestern in Dallas.
Dr. Long completed his surgical residency and fellowship training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Because Dr. Long believes in meeting every patient at their point of need, he has achieved a dual board certification in Bariatric Medicine through the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).
Dr. Long joined Parker Adventist Hospital where he became Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery where he has written an IRB protocol for the loop duodenal switch (SADI-S). He currently serves as a national bariatric program site reviewer and is also currently participating as a co-author for the national obesity algorithm for the national Obesity Medical Association (OMA). He has served as a national guest speaker on various surgical topics.
