Dr. Velez has been practicing laparoscopic bariatric surgery since 2002. He had training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of Texas in San Antonio. We perform all the approved bariatric procedures, being the Laparoscopic Gastric Sleeve our main procedure now. We also do Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass and Duodenal Switch. We also do revisions very often, conversion from Lap Band to Gastric Bypass and Gastric sleeve, Revision from failed sleeve to Duodenal Switch (mainly one anastomosis duodenal switch - SADIS) and Gastric bypass revisions for weight regain. Our team includes dietitians and psychologist. We often do international patients coming from the US and other countries. We can offer a complete package with lodging and transportation. Revisional surgery has become and important part of our practice, mainly for patients with previous Roux en Y Gastric bypass and Gastric Sleeve with insuficient weight loss, weight regain or Gastroesophageal reflux.
