Jonathan Gipson, MD

Dr. Gipson is a general surgeon that focuses on gastrointestinal surgery in the Minneapolis area and is currently the Medical Director of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. After Graduating Medical School from the University of Minnesota in 2001 he pursued his General Surgery training at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester and graduated in 2006. He is board certified in General Surgery and has a Focused Practice Designation in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery(2022). He performs laparoscopic robotic assisted bariatric procedures including the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, the Sleeve Gastrectomy and revisionsl operations. All of Dr. Gipson's patients are cared for by a team of specialists including dieticians, psychologists, sleep specialists and nurses with a special interest and expertise in both medical and surgical weight loss management. Dr. Gipson has been a bariatric surgeon for over 15 years and has been named by his physician peers to Mpls StPaul Magazine's Top Doctors in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.
