John Cheregi, MS FASMBS

Dr. John Cheregi is a General and Bariatric surgeon who practices out of our local Barrington location and performs surgeries out of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. He completed his fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery in Iowa City, IA in 2013 and finished his residency in General Surgery at the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals. He has authored and co-authored numerous weight loss surgery and general surgery publications.

Dr. Cheregi has a passion for helping patients and understands the medical complexities behind obesity. He uses a personalized approach with each patient, ensuring they receive individualized care and helps them choose the weight loss procedure that will be most effective. Patient goals and input are very important in decisions made about weight loss surgery. Dr. Cheregis goal is that each patient lives life to the fullest, and he is passionate about helping patients remove their weight as an obstacle.
