Residency for two years in General Surgery and more two years in Digestive Surgery in Hospital de Clinicas of the Federal University of Paraná Masters in General Surgery From 1994 to 2001 - Member of the Board of the Medical Association of Parana for eight consecutive years Member of the Brazilian Society of Endoscopy Member of the Brazilian College of Surgeons Member of the Brazilian Society for Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery Started bariatric surgery in 1995, and laparoscopically since 2000 and highly experienced in Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric bypass, biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch, and revisional surgeries. In 1999 started the Brazilian Protocol for approval of the Bioenterics Intragastric Balloon (BIB™) Between 2000 and 2004 was educational consultant and Proctor for Bioenterics™ and Allergan™ Since 2000 has placed over 4,000 intragastric balloons and has been working in a variety of projects in advance technology for endoscopic treatment of obesity as reduction of the gastric pouch with argon plasma and endoscopic gastroplasty. Performed lectures in more than twenty eight countries in a variety of subjects related to endoscopic and surgical treatment of obesity, In 2011 started a personalized course called Clinical Immersion in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery for Medtronic™ currently with 38 editions. In 2016 received the most important Commend of his home state from the Governor for representing his home state worldwide. Past-President of The Brazilian Society of Bariatric and Metabolic surgery in 2017/2018 Member of the Executive Board of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Diseases 2019-2022 In 2019 recieved the IFSO Ambassador Award in acknowledgement of the invaluable work and leadership in Latin America if favor of IFSO.
