Jeanne Lubbe, MD PhD

Jeanne is a consultant surgeon in the Division of Surgery at Tygerberg Hospital and the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, South Africa. She has a special interest in minimally invasive endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery, and currently runs the Upper Gastrointestinal and Metabolic Surgery firms at Tygerberg Hospital. She completed an endoscopic fellowship at Huddinge University Hospital and a combined PhD degree at the University of Stellenbosch (US) and Karolinska Institutet (KI), Stockholm. She is a member of the Board of the Colleges of Surgeons of South Africa, an EXCO member of SASES (South African Society for Endoscopic Surgeons), current president of SAMMSS (South African Metabolic Medicine Society) and a US senior lecturer, actively involved with both pre- and postgraduate teaching in the current and renewed curriculum.
