Jeanne Hutson, NP-C

Jeanne Hutson is a nurse practitioner specializing in medical and surgical weight management, nutrition and wellness, and diabetes. She has decades of experience helping patients improve health indicators and manage disease by focusing on education, wellness, nutrition and the delivery of evidence-based medicine. Jeanne joined WakeMed Bariatric Surgery and Medical Weight Loss after spending years caring for patients with endocrine disorders at Cary Endocrine & Diabetes Center. Previously, Jeanne worked as a certified diabetes educator for both WakeMed’s Pediatric and Adult Diabetes Programs. Jeanne blends her background in nursing, diabetes management, and nutrition to provide both medical and lifestyle expertise to her patients. Working with patients to manage the daily challenges of chronic disease, Jeanne provides the education and clinical expertise to help people feel their very best. She has earned the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) and American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Certificates in Obesity Management. She holds a master’s degree in public health in nutrition, as well as both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing.  She earned board certification in advanced diabetes management in 2002. Jeane is a current member of the ASMBS APP committee and has spoken at both national and state conference meetings.
