Jane Sylvestre, MS, RDN, CSOWM,LDN brings research into practice to facilitate long term weight loss success for her patients. Jane is the lead dietitian at the Center for the Center for Weight Control at Saint Anne's Hospital with Brown Health University. She also works for Nutegra Mental Health and Nutrition as the Nutrition Director where she focuses on eating disorders and has her own private practice called Bariatric Success. Jane has been working with bariatric patients for over 15 years Jane has a wealth of knowledge. She is slated to graduate from Rutger's University in May of 2025 with a Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition. She has received a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Jane completed her dietetic internship at the Houston VA Medical Center in Houston, TX. She is a certified specialist in obesity and weight management (CSOWM) and received her level 1 and level 2 certificate in Adult Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Jane has been recognized for her contributions to the field. She is a recent recipient of the of "Dietitan of the the Year" and previously won “Young Dietitian of the Year” from the Academy. She has also been awarded "Excelence in Practice" award from the Academy and "Excellence in Nutrition" award from ASMBS. Jane has been an active volunteer througout her career. She was the founder of the New England Bariatric Surgery Dietitian Network and the organizer of bariatric conferences of New England for several years. She is currently President Elect for the Maine Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (MAND) and has volunteered on Academy boards as Nominating and Awards Chair and Treasurer for several years. Jane puts most of her energy into providing her patients with as many tools as possible to have a successful weight loss journey. She writes a monthly comprehensive newsletter f focusing on weight or Saint Anne's Hospital on nutrition and bariatric surgery. She teaches a Back on Track nutrition class which includes hands on cooking classes and tours of the supermarket. Jane utilizes social media through a closed Facebook group for her patients to offer an additional mode of support called “cast-a-weighs.” Jane organizes and runs monthly support groups several times per month for her practice. Jane works tiredlessly to ensure that her patients have the tools they need to succeed! In her spare time, Jane loves to run. Jane has completed 8 marathons, 1 of which she encouraged and ran with one of her patients.
