About the Provider

Dr. Jamil Luke Stetler is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Emory University. He graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, before earning his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Stetler completed his general surgery residency and a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Emory University, where he now specializes in advanced robotic GI procedures, general surgery, complex hernia, and bariatric surgery. As a leader in his field, Dr. Stetler spearheaded the development of a comprehensive bariatric program at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital (ESJH), which has earned designation as an MBSAQIP Center of Excellence. He currently serves as the Director of Bariatric Surgery at ESJH and as President of the Georgia Chapter of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). Dr. Stetler is an active member of multiple professional societies and has authored numerous articles and book chapters. He also chairs the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Committee at ESJH, leading quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. A dedicated educator, Dr. Stetler is deeply committed to training the next generation of general surgery residents and minimally invasive surgery fellows at Emory. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality moments with his wife, Ali, and their two daughters, Olivia and Sloane.
