About the Provider

Washington state has been my home for many years, and I am proud to have grown up in the rural community of Davenport where I worked on a farm. I received my education from prestigious institutions such as Gonzaga Prep for high school, Carroll College in Helena, MT for my undergraduate degree, and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD for medical school. I completed my surgical training at Madigan Medical Center and spent 25 years in the Army, providing medical and surgical care to hundreds of Iraqis and Afghanis during multiple deployments to support the war on terrorism. I even had the honor of being the surgeon in charge of Saddam Hussein's surgical care. Since retiring from the Army, I joined Multicare in 2015 and started the Bariatric surgical program. My dedication to helping people achieve their goals has never wavered, and I strive to provide compassionate and informed care to all my patients. I am happily married to my wife of 30 years, and we have seven wonderful children, one biological and six adopted. I am also a proud grandfather of five granddaughters. I am a survivor of the Route 91 shooting and am happy that I could provide some help to the wounded that day. As a surgeon, I believe in educating my patients and helping them make informed decisions about their care plan. I never want anyone to feel pressured, which is why I make myself available by providing my personal cellphone number to ensure my patients have access to me when they need it.
