Indira Abraham-Pratt, PhD ABPP

Dr. Abraham-Pratt is a licensed, board certified health psychologist specializing in the psychological aspects of weight management problems in children and teens. Her goal is to help improve kids’ self-esteem and overall mental health while putting them on track for healthy lifestyle choices through adulthood. Her culturally sensitive approach to family counseling is a key to successful outcomes for patients. She practices as part of a multidisciplinary team (along side an obesity medicine pediatrician, dietitian, exercise physiologist) to provide the best care for her patients who are struggling with issues related to overweight/obesity status and related comorbidities. She also provides pre and post adolescent bariatric surgery services, including pre-bariatric surgery psychological evaluations at the Advent Health Adolescent Bariatric Surgery Program. She also has specialized training in pediatric psychology, family systems, as well as Diabetes. Dr. Pratt earned her Doctorate Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. She completed her internship in Clinical Child Psychology at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine Mailman Center for Child Development and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Child and Pediatric Psychology at the same location. She is board certified in Health Psychology, by the American Board of Professional Psychology.
