Hamzeh Halawani, MD FACS FEBS

Dr. Hamzeh Halawani, MD, FACS, FEBS, IFASMBS trained at Abington-Jefferson,
Pennsylvania, USA, and successfully acquired an accredited fellowship in
Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery in 2017. Dr. Halawani gained enormous
experience in laparoscopic, endoscopic and robotic obesity surgery during his stay in the
United States.
Dr. Halawani finished his training in general surgery at the American
University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), Beirut-Lebanon 2011-2016.
Established in 1886, The American University of Beirut is one of the leading
scientific institutions in the Middle East. Moreover, the general surgery
program received the distinctive accreditation by The Accreditation Council
for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME-I) – USA.
Dr. Halawani is Jordanian Board and European board certified (F.E.B.S), he is also fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He
specializes in laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic Roux en Y
gastric bypass, laparoscopic biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch,
and reversional surgeries, along with all the laparoscopic general surgery
procedures. Dr. Halawani is a member in the American Medical Association
(ASA), American Society of Metabolic and bariatric surgery (ASMBS),
American College of Surgeons (ACS), Society of American Gastrointestinal
and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), Jordanian Surgical Society, and
Jordanian Medical Association. Dr. Halawani has 18 publications in peer-
reviewed journals including the New England Journal of Medicine.
