I have been working in the field of Bariatrics Nutrition for the past nine years and really love it. The team I work with is the best and the patients are so appreciative. We do over 1000 Bariatric Surgeries a year with 3 Surgeons and we are recognized as a Center of Excellence with MBSAQIP, (Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program).
I am also involved in Bariatric Podcasts with Dr. Susan Mitchell and Isabel Maples and we have a lot of fun getting together to make a new Nutrition Podcast every six weeks or so for Dr. Susan's Podcast entitled Bariatric Nutrition Success! Dr. Susan usually has a new podcast every week or two. She has been a wonderful mentor to me over the years.
I have worked in all areas of Clinical Nutrition over the past 30 plus years in the Clincal Arena, Management Arena and volunteered in local, state and the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
I have worked as a Dietitian in the states of Utah, North Carolina and Florida always in the local and state chapters of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
I received my undergraduate education at Cal Poly, SanLuis Obispo, California. Graduate of Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences at Utah State in Logan, Utah. I have received Specialty Certifications in Nutrition Support and Obesity and Weight Management.
I love Dietetics, as a student, teacher, mentor and practitioner always learning by doing the work. I have been fortunate to also be involved in Bariatric Research at our center of excellence.
