Dena McCoy is a Registered Nurse at UofL Health - Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. After receiving her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Grand Canyon University, Dena joined the UofL Health - Mary & Elizabeth Hospital - Weight Loss Center. Dena feels fortunate to be involved in a program where she can work closely with patients to help them achieve their weight loss goals. She has held other nursing positions at Mary & Elizabeth since starting her nursing career in 2013, such as Staff RN Medical/Surgical, Pre-Op/Post-Op RN, and Perioperative/Perianesthesia Nurse Educator. When Dena's not taking care of patients, she loves spending time with family. She has a husband, Alan, daughters Shelby (Alex) and Kara (Peter), grand-daughter Rosalyn, two grand-sons (Ezra and Elijah), a furbaby, Brita, and two fur grandbabies (Ruby & Ellie). She also enjoys taking care of her 98-year-old grandma, Marjorie. Dena loves traveling across the country with her family, especially visiting national parks with Yosemite National Park topping the list.
