About the Provider

Craig L. Floch M.D., Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery with more than 25 years of experience operating in Fairfield County Connecticut. Dr. Craig Floch has previously held privileges at Norwalk Hospital, St. Vincent's Medical Center, Griffin Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, Milford Hospital and is now presently employed as Associate Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery at Danbury Hospital. Dr Floch was the founder of Fairfield County Bariatrics and Surgical Specialist and also established the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He has had the distinguished privilege during his career to sit on a multitude of committees including Executive Committe at both Norwalk Hospital and St. Vincent's Medical Center. He served on the Board of Trustees at Fairfield County Medical Association. In addition, he has held teaching positions as part of the Yale/Norwalk Hospital PA Residency Teaching Program. He holds titles as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Netter Quinnipiac School of Medicine and the University of Vermont School of Medicine. He has been honored to be awarded the Castle Connoly Top Doctors Award as well as Connecticut Top Doctors for many years. He has won numerous teaching awards from the Yale/Norwalk PA program.After spending the last 13 years as Director of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Hartford Healthcare’s St. Vincent's Medical Center, he is honored to join the Nuvance Health team and participate as Associate Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery at Danbury Hospital. In return, I expect good follow-up and compliance with directions. How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients? I love spending time with my family as well as boating and other water activities. Also like yard work and cars. Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward? General surgery and Bariatrics affords me the ability to change one's life. I feel so rewarded to help people either by losing weight which improves their lifestyle or by repairing a process like a gallbladder removal or hernia repair.
