I am a licensed psychologist working specifically with bariatric patients since 2002. Since that time, I have completed over 5000 pre-surgical evaluations. In addition, I work with patients before and after surgery to make necessary behavioral and emotional changes necessary for long-term weight management following bariatric surgery. I have created a complete afterxare program available to programs and/or individual patients (www.bariaftercare.com) the MindPrep video series so that patients are able to get an in-depth understanding of the emotional changes associated with bariatric surgery (www.mindprepvideo.com). In addition, I have written Eat It Up (https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Spirit-Guide-Weight-Surgery-ebook/dp/B01EJZKAB0/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1483415040&sr=1-2&keywords=eat+it+up) to assist patients throughout their weight loss journey. I have spoken at ASMBS conferences as well as at IFSO conferences and have held committee positions with both organizations, as well. My work takes me to New Zealand every couple of years where I collaborate with a successful bariatric practice.
