Dr. Taglia grew up in the New York City area. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, obtaining a degree in biology and Spanish. He then attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York where he was active performing volunteer work in the local community and also spent time working abroad in South America. Dr. Taglia then completed his general surgery residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital on California's Central Coast where he gained experience in trauma, laparoscopy, and endoscopy. He then went on to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, New York. Following his training, Dr. Taglia began surgical practice in Lompoc, California in 2019. He currently serves as the Director of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Director of Robotic Surgery at Lompoc Health. Lompoc Valley Medical Center has been able to achieve accreditation as a Comprehensive Center for Bariatric Surgery with Obesity Medicine Qualifications and is also recognized as a Center of Excellence for Robotic Surgery by the SRC. Dr. Taglia has a strong passion for bariatric surgery, anti-reflux procedures, hernia repair, and colon surgery.
