Bariatric Surgeon & Bariatric Patient
“The only way to know what it feels like to have bariatric surgery is to have one, and I have!” – Dr. Brewer
Dr. Brewer combines his personal experience with expert medical and surgical treatment options to fight the disease of obesity. He is dedicated to providing individualized care for every patient who strives to lose weight, overcome diabetes, lower cancer risks, and improve the length and quality of their life.
Like his patients, Dr. Brewer has struggled with his weight for his entire life. He has lost weight with an improved diet and exercise regimen, obesity medications, an intra-gastric balloon, and finally a bariatric surgery. Dr. Brewer understands that the disease of obesity is a difficult, personal, lifelong struggle that every person must face with their own treatment plan. He takes pride in helping each patient find the best treatment options for them.
Dr. Brewer offers a medically guided dietary and lifestyle modification program which often includes obesity fighting medications to address the body’s own mechanisms that prevent weight loss. He offers a non-surgical option, the intra-gastric balloon, to improve results in select patients. Dr Brewer is also an expert bariatric surgeon offering all proven minimally invasive surgery options: laparoscopic gastric sleeve, laparoscopic gastric bypass, laparoscopic duodenal switch, laparoscopic single-anastomosis duodenoileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S), and laparoscopic revisions of prior bariatric surgery.
As a bariatric patient, Dr Brewer welcomes post surgical patients seeking help maintaining results, or in need of additional treatment for their obesity.
