About the Provider
Dr. Brian Quebbemann has been performing bariatric surgery since beginning his private practice in 1997. He is widely respected as a thought leader in bariatric surgery with his innovative approach to the management of bariatric surgery patients and his innovations in minimally invasive surgery.
Early in his practice Dr. Quebbemann began performing the first advanced laparoscopic procedures in Orange County, including splenectomy, colectomy, Nissen fundoplication, hernia repair and Gastric Bypass and Lap-Band. In 1999, he founded CALSURG, Inc., (Center for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery), and in 2001 he founded The N.E.W. Program, Inc., a multidisciplinary medical and surgical weight management program. Dr. Quebbemann served as a consultant for Inamed Corporation, Ethicon Endosurgery and U.S. Surgical Corporation in supporting the establishment of multidisciplinary bariatric programs nationwide in 2002 through 2004.
Dr. Quebbemann has established bariatric surgery programs and Centers of Excellence at several southern California hospitals and has served as Director of Bariatric Surgery at Hoag Memorial Hospital, Huntington Beach Hospital, Irvine Medical Center, Tri-City Regional Medical Center, South Coast Medical Center, Chapman Hospital, Community Hospital of Long Beach, Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital and Southern California Hospital of Culver City. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and was designated as a Surgeon of Excellence and a Master Surgeon in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS).
Dr. Quebbemann published a book titled “World’s Greatest Weight Loss” in 2019, promoting education on bariatric surgery and obesity to the public. He has also published two additional books on weight control, “Dietary Rebuild™” and “Permanent Surgical Weight Loss with the DietaryRebuild™” in 2020. His fourth book, “High Impact Weight Loss” is due to be published in 2022.
He currently is focusing on his new surgical procedures, the S.L.I.M.M.S. Procedures, for Surgically Limit Intake and Manage Metabolic Syndrome.
