About the Provider

Dr. Angelina Bernier is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Florida and a board-certified pediatric endocrinologist. She serves as the Program Director for both the Pediatric Endocrine Fellowship and the newly established Pediatric Obesity Medicine Fellowship. As Medical Director of the UF Health Metabolic & Obesity Clinic and Pediatric Medical Advisor for the UF Bariatric Surgery Center, Dr. Bernier leads multidisciplinary efforts to improve outcomes for children with diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and obesity through comprehensive metabolic care. Her clinical and research interests focus on the hormonal treatment of prediabetes and obesity, comorbidities such as PCOS in the context of type 1 diabetes, and the integration of behavioral interventions including cardiorespiratory fitness assessments and continuous glucose monitoring. She is an active member of national research initiatives, including the Clinical Adolescent PCOS Database and Consortium (CALICO), and leads outreach programs to expand access to obesity care in underserved rural areas through telehealth. She is the cochair of a subcommittee of the Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES) Obesity Group aiming at identifying knowledge gaps and advancing pediatric obesity health knowledge among pediatric endocrinologists.
