Graduated from N.Pirogov State Medical School, Moscow, RF in 1979. Practiced surgical oncology at Moscow Hertzen Cancer research Institute till 1992, when became a Clinical Research Fellow at the Cancer Institute at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC, 1992-1997. Completed General Surgery Residency at the Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD. From 1992 till 2014 was in private practice focused on Bariatric & advanced laparoscopic surgery. From 2014 till present - Staff surgeons at the Saint Agnes Hospital. Director of Bariatric & Laparoscopic surgery from 2008 till present. Practice is exclusively devoted to primary and revisional bariatric surgery with more than 5,000 procedures performed. Ascension/Saint Agnes Bariatric Surgery service is continuosly credentialed since 2006 initially as Center of Excellence by SRC and from 2013 till present as Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery program by ACS/ASMBS MBSAQIP.
